Freightman wins workout
Smirk Jones (Cl; 3min 395), Wildwood Jack (3min 36.75) and El Red performed well over 2600 m at the Motukarara workouts yesterday.
Wildwood Jack ran his last 800 m in 645, and final 400 m in 31.55, to beat El Red, which lost 60m at the start.
Freightman (3min 30.65) won the main heat with Michelle Bromac second. The last 800 m was run in 63s and the final 400 m in 30s.
Grand Central (3min 445) held out Game Greg in the trotters’ heat.
Clairvoyant won the stablehands’ event for Donna Hayes, while Sholty’s Becon took out the two-year-old heat over one mile in 2min 21s.
