Late league addition
James West, a centre, became Canterbury’s fifth representative in the New Zealand rugby league schoolboy Kiwi team now touring Australia.
He was chosen as an eleventh-hour replacement for James McNeice, of Auckland, who was unable to obtain a passport in time. The other Canterbury players are Jason Diggs, Paul Turvey, Hamuera Reuben, and Paul Zuppicich.
