Piggott fined
NZPA-AP London Millionaire ex-jockey Lester Piggott was fined £lOOO (SNZ3OSO) for possessing guns and ammunition without certificates by Newmarket magistrates, in Suffolk. The Court was told that Piggott had an Enfield revolver, a Colt automatic pistol, and 400 rounds of ammunition in the office of his Newmarket home.
The hearing went ahead in his absence as Piggott was said to be at horse sales in Deauville, France.
