EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR S (Wellington City location) ~ Our client is a N.Z. trade association established to represent and promote the common interests of its members, and seeking to expand its profile in the retail market place. The Association is also the umbrella organisation for a variety of business and promotional ventures with substantial sales per annum. This position offers a challenging opportunity to be a vital part of the Association’s expansion and will attract candidates with proven management/ administrative abilities, and marketing skills. The Executive Director is not only responsible for the overall day to day management of the Association, its staff and subsidiary ventures, but also for other key areas including: — the co-ordination and implementation of marketing plans and strategies — co-ordinating professional support to the membership — maintaining a major liaison role in all aspects of the retail trade with interested parties in the private and public sector. The position requires regular travel within New Zealand and occasionally overseas. Responsibility is to the President and the elected Council of the Association. The successfill applicant will possess well developed written and oral communication skills, good commercial sense and initiative, and broad general management/administration experience preferably with some financial and computer knowledge.
