Battle of Bands to go ahead
Just when the High School Battle of the Bands seemed doomed because of lack of entries, eight bands appeared from out of local garages and saved the competition.
Earlier this week “The Press” reported that the battle could fail, but since then there have been responses throughout Christchurch. Nine bands are now entered, and will play to win this evening and tomorrow evening at the Youth Centre, 111 Worcester Street, at 8 p.m.
