Winners hide identities
PA Wellington The 10 winners of this week’s Golden Kiwi Winter $1 million lottery who work at Databank Systems’ head office in Wellington are guarding their identities. The winning “Ibis” syndicate has an ideal workplace in Databank System’s head office, with tight security and loyal
employees who are abiding by orders not to divulge winners’ names. Named after the Ibis systems section in Databank House, syndicate members got together after their win and discussed how they would deal with the press and others eager to know about their windfall. They decided they all
wanted to remain anonymous, one of the winners told the “Dominion” newspaper. The man declined to comment on how he was going to spend his $lOO,OOO. But eight of his syndicate colleagues have agreed to be filmed for an in-house video for Databank employees.
