Orienteers battle damp
Thirty-one competitors combated soggy conditions at Victoria Park last Sunday, when the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club held score events over 60min and 30min.
Points were gained by visiting a series of controls selected by the orienteers, who made their own choice of routes. Higher totals were gained by including particularly difficult controls.
Results:— 60min score' event: G. Boniface, 364 points, 1; M. King, 343, 2; T. Hoey, 321, 3. 30min score event: A. Harris, 140, 1; C. Tuffley and L. and B. Somerfield, 55, equal 2. Long wayfarers course (3.2 km O. Jones, 56.54 min, 1; J. Moore, 1:9.12, 2; S. Hall, 1:12.57, 3. Short wayfarers course (I.4km): P. McCarthy, 49.59, 1.
