Pupils reject reforms

Tauranga Boys’ Collegg pupils reject two of three Government education rd? forms, including abolition of school certificate, according to a poll. 4 The college newspaper, “Hillsdene Reflector,” has published a series, of opinion poll results. Renowned for its accurate political polls in recent years, the newspaper asked students questions, on current affairs issues..,: No-one voted fo abolition of school certificate — 95 per cent wanted the external examinations to, continue as usual. Five per cent were mittal. Ninety-on'e per. cent voted against abolition of corporal punishment in schools. * But the four-day week; also known as the Kapitt College Plan for Seventy, Formers, ranked highly in the poll with a 61 per cent approval. A poll among senior 5 students on whether the miha design should be-; come the national flag was rejected by 83 per cent, with only 5 per cent in favour. <
