Soccer summit
New Zealand’s first soccer summit will be held in Christchurch next month. Members of the New Zealand Football Association council will attend the meeting, from September 19-21, which is intended to enable different soccer bodies to air their views on the sport’s future. “It is designed to increase the communication between all bodies affiliated to the N.Z.F.A.,” said
the chairman of the Canterbury Football Association, Mr David Cox. The idea of a summit was born when the chairman of the N.Z.F.A., Mr Charlie Dempsey, visited Christchurch earlier this year. “It was felt that a bigger meeting could have benefit for everybody. So far, the reaction from the different groups has been very positive,” added Mr Cox.
