Changes at State commission
PA Wellington The State Services Commission has reorganised its top organisational positions in preparation for the new-style Public Service.
A commissioner, Mr Don Hunn, has had environmental restructuring added to his list of responsibilities, which also covers State-owned enterprise, the “Evening Post” reports.
Mr Hunn takes over the environmental restructuring task from the deputy chairman of the State Services Commission, Mr Peter Boag, who is now looking after administrative departments and developing philosophy for the “core” Public Service - the non-trading sector of the service. The third commissioner, Mrs Margaret Bazley, has special responsibility for social service departments. The new organisational approach also means that each commissioner will once again have responsibility for a group of departments — as well as particular functions. Since 1983, Mr Boag has had the responsibility of dealing with all the permanent heads.
