Upset victory to Auckland B
PA Hastings Auckland B caused an upset when it beat the second division side, Hawke’s Bay, 34-29, in an entertaining game yesterday.
Mark Shaw was again
the outstanding player for Hawke’s Bay but Auckland controlled the tight game and won in the final minutes after the Bay lead, 20-16, at half-time.
Scorers. —Auckland B 34: Richard Sigley (2), Berrnie Smith, Jimi Damu, Patia
Nene tries; Brett Craies five conversions and two penalties.
Hawke’s Bay 29: Paul Cooke (3), Steve Ngamanu tries; Matthew Cooper two conversions, two penalties and one dropped goal.
