The Canterbury Provincial Commissioner of Girl Guides, Mrs Edna Hanafin, with some of the art and craft work which will be exhibited for sale at the C.S.A. gallery from today until September 7. The Girl Guides will get the commission on works sold, and the money will help pay for renovations at the guides’ Cracroft Centre. The bronze figurines were made by an Auckland sculptor, Mary Barker, and the rag doll by Ursula Bendien, of Christchurch. Other works include paintings, pottery, fibre art, embroidery, glasswork, woodwork, china painting, and rugs and patchwork.
