N.Z. album for Hasselhoff
PA Auckland The car parked outside wasn’t a black Trans Am. It was a blue Holden Commodore and it didn’t answer back. No matter — Michael Knight was in town. The tall, tanned figure working out at an Auckland gym on Tuesday was unmistakably that of David Hasselhoff, star of television’s “Knight Rider.” “I need to work out,” he said. “When you’re on
the road and eating out all the time, you can end up with more chins than a Chinese phone book.” Hasselhoff and his road manager, Buddy McCormack, are in Auckland for five weeks, but their mission has nothing to do with acting. “Michael Knight” is currently recording an album of love songs and original music at Mandrill Studios, under the
watchful eye of the local producer, Gray Bartlett. While in Auckland, Hasselhoff will be reunited with his screen “buddy” — the Knight 2000 car. Bartlett has brought the car to New Zealand and the crime-busting combination will make an appearance at Auckland Hospital’s children’s ward during the next five weeks.
