Some people want more information about each other while others want to ensure that as much information as possible remains confidential Whichever group you belong to, the new Adult Adoption Information Act aims to protect your interests. The law has been changed because it is recognised that some people in the adoption process may feel more complete when they have knowledge of their origins and of each other. The law also allows birth parents and adopted adults to stop information about themselves being given out. You can if you wish discuss your situation with the counsellor of your choice. You have the right to choose.
