No tour for Knight
NZPA staff correspondent Dunedin The All Black prop, Gary Knight, is unavailable for New Zealand’s rugby tour of France later this year. It is thought the 34-year-old veteran of 64 matches, including 34 tests, is tied to his farming commitments.
Knight was a surprise inclusion in the New Zealand team for Saturday’s second test against Australia at Carisbrook after rumours of his retirement from international rugby, on his return from the Cavaliers’ tour of South Africa.
A late telephone call from coach and selection convener, Brian Lochore, is believed to have prompted his decision to make himself available for his thirty-fifth international.
