Stephanie Foster may retire
NZPA staff correspondent Nottingham
Stephanie Foster, New Zealand’s most successful woman rower, hinted yesterday that she might soon retire from the sport that has brought her two world championship
bronze medals and Commonwealth golds. After finishing third in the double sculls at the world championships at Nottingham yesterday with her fellow Cambridge sculler, Robin Clarke, Foster, aged 27, said:
“I think it might have been our last one together in the doubles.” It was “very tempting” to bow out now on a high note, she said. She would not elaborate, saying she would think about her future “when I’ve had a rest.”
