Hard-fought ice hockey
Both matches in the senior ice hockey competition at the Big Apple rink during the week-end resulted in one-goal victories.
A late goal enabled AW A Hitachi Redwings to edge out Rangers, 5-4. In the match between the top two teams. Bruins and Islanders, neither side scored in the first period, but Bruins were aheiid, 2-1, at the end of the secfad spell. Wrai two minutes remain-
ing, Bruins were ahead, 4-3, but two goals by Jeff McDonnell in the space of 16 seconds gave Islanders a dramatic 5-4 win. Scorers: Redwings 5 (D. Williamson, R. Carlson, A. Berke, S. Johnson and R.
