Tax foe dies
Howard Jarvis, a millionaire who led a tax revolt that cut California’s property taxes SUS 7 billion and spread across much of the United States, has died of internal bleeding. He was 83. Mr Jarvis had entered hospital with a disorder that impaired the ability of his blood to clot He was little known in the United States when, in 1978, he launched a successful campaign to cut rising property taxes in California.—Los Anafties.
