'N.A.C.' to be seen flying high again?
By
LES BLOXHAM,
travel editor When Air New Zealand took over the National Airways Corporation eight years ago it wasted little time in removing all traces of the old domestic airline’s familiar image. But is “N.A.C.” really dead or is it likely to rise again soon in a new form, Phoenixlike, to haunt the monster that consumed it? Air New Zealand has been throwing tantrums recently over the possibility of competition from Newmans-Ansett on its main trunk routes. Imagine the roar of protest, though, if the Newmans Ansett Company decides to become known by its initials — N.A.C. It would be just like the old days, but with competition.
