Carlsson Kitchens staff at 365 Madras Street, will demonstrate how to assemble the Eurokit designer modular kitchen this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. “People will be Invited in for coffee and they can watch and ask any questions they wish about the product,” said the Christchurch branch manager, Miss Lynn Clark. According to Miss Clark, Eurokit kitchens are proving very popular with many customers wishing to cut costs as well as make their kitchen step by step io their personal specifications. Carlsson Kitchens has been making kitchens for eight years, and designs kitchens exclusively for many clients. "Practically anything that our clients ask for, we try to get together for them. Colour, styles, whatever, it doesn’t matter, it’s all available now,” said Miss Clark. “New Zealanders don’t have to drool over any European kitchen magazines anymore, because the present Government has thrown New Zealand

wide open for any imports,” she said. Asked whether this was good or bad for New Zealand’s kitchen industry, Miss Clark said it was a very good incentive for New Zealand manufacturers to compete. “I’m not saying that New Zealand manufacturers are no good. They are very good. But opening up the market to overseas competition will make them even better, and I think they’ll really rise to the occasion,” she said. “It’s great for consumers too, because they can get anything they see in magazines now and have more of a variety to choose from,” said Miss Clark.
