Small airline suspends work
PA Invercargill Goldfields Air, Ltd, of Alexandra, has suspended work while a legal battle affecting its viability looms. The chairman of the small airline, Mr Russell Ibbotson, of Alexandra, rebutted suggestions that the airline was going into receivership, saying that was “a bit premature.” He said he could not
elaborate on the company’s position as legal action was pending. The company has been running for about 18 months using a twinengined Navajo aircraft on a regular service between Christchurch and central Otago. Three full time and two part-time staff are employed.
