Situations Vacant Situations Vacant ENGINEER/ . SENIOR ENGINEER We have a vacancy for the above position on our Transmission Line Maintenance Section, Head Office, Wellington. The work is interesting, varied and ■ challenging. It involves providing an engineering advice service for regional maintenance staff and in helping ensure that the Division’s maintenance techniques and policies continue to keep abreast of local and international developments. The Division operates and maintains over 12,000 km of transmission lines constructed for voltages up to 220 kV ac and 500 kV de. The wide range of environments, in which the transmission network is built, creates unique and challenging engineering problems. We'need a motivated and adaptable person to join our small Head Office team to help us ensure this transmission system continues to function safely, reliably and economically. Because the work involves liaison with other engineering sections in Head Office as well as the provision of advice to Regional staff the person we require also needs good oral and written communication skills. Experience with high voltage transmission lines, while valuable, is not essential and applicants from other engineering backgrounds including other disciplines will be considered.
