Suspension for Craig Edmond
Craig Edmond will miss the first day of the Grand National carnival at Riccarton after receiving a one day suspension at the Christchurch Hunt Club’s meeting at Riccarton on Saturday. Edmond, the rider of Notre Dame in the Kennels Handicap, was found guilty on a charge of careless riding after allowing his mount to shift inwards 300 m after the start of the 1800 m event, causing Norwester (Rop McCann) to check and lose ground. In suspending Edmond up to and Including Saturday, August 2, the judicial committee took into account his good race riding record.
Chris Roberts, the rider of De Vito in the Second David Gould, was fined a sufn of $lOO for weighing in .75kg in excess of his weigh out weight.
