Mink, diamonds for Marilyn doll

To mark the twentyfifth anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death next month, a special edition doll has been made. There are only two (which makes them real collectors items). They will both stand 30 centimetres high and be made from china. They will cost $16,400, but for
that price each will be dressed in a real mink coat, real diamond eight-star-burst earrings and a necklace.
“Dynasty’s” beautiful Linda Evans, who declares In an American television commercial that “40 isn’t fatal,” is spear-heading a scholarship programme for women who take charge of their lives after turning 30, just the way she did. Evans, who is 43 (but who is counting) is the honorary chairperson of an awards scheme that will give 25 $lOOO scholarships to women who have changed the course of their lives after turning 30. Recently Princess Stephanie was asked to sign an autograph while she was shopping in a posh Beverley Hills department store. She kindly did what the fan asked, but when the fan saw that she had only signed Stephanie and not Princess Stephanie, he handed her back the autograph book requesting the Princess part of her name. Stephanie replied "but that’s my name.” The fan then replied “I want the Princess part as well.”
Princess Stephanie simply tore the page out of the autograph book saying: “If my real name is not good enough, you will not want my autograph anyway.” The male fan backed away, not knowing quite what had hit him. So much for the price of fame! Dionne Warwick was washing her hands in a ladies rest room in a Beverly Hills restaurant when she dropped her multi-carat emerald ring down the drain. Of course, she was horrified. She ran and asked the waiter to stand guard outside the rest room making sure
that nobody used the hand basin. The hotel called its plumber who took the sink apart and found her valuable ring. Warwick happily paid the plumber, and gave both him and the waiter a $lOOO tip. Robin Williams, aged 33, and Twiggy, aged 36, are now making a movie called “Club Paradise" in Jamaica. He plays a Chicago fireman who becomes a partner in a rundown resort and she is his buddy. A friend of mine is working on the movie and she tells me it will be one of the best comedy movies to come out of the
United States for a long time. Maybe we should watch out for it here in New Zealand
The lovely Leslie Caron may be the next star to join the soapie “Dallas." Talks are now under way. I also hear a sound that Liber ace. will be doing a small cameo role on “Dynasty” next season. Warren Beatty was ail set to sign a contract to appear on “Dynasty” when Joan Collins got wind of it and soon put a stop to it You see, Beatty gave Collins what-o about their romance back in the 'sixties which she wrote about in her book and Collins has not forgotten it Let’s face it Joan Collins has really become the star of “Dynasty." I know people who just watch the soapie to see what she is wearing — I do!
I hear that Olivia Newton John and her (young) husband, Matt Lattanzi are about to write a movie starring themselves and their new bom baby Chloe. That is not bad for a mum and dad who, only a few months ago, said their child was not going into the movies, but my lips are sealed!
