Livestock exporters form body

PA Wellington The New Zealand Livestock Exporters’ Association has been formed. The asociation held its first meeting in Wellington recently, and elected Mr D. M. Tate, managing director of Animal Enterprises, Ltd, as president. Aims identified by the association include liaison with the Government, the promotion of export guidelines for all classes of livestock, and research. The association was formed under the auspices of the Stock and Station Agents’ Association, but would work independently, the N.Z.L.E.A. said. The general manager of the Stock and Station Agents’ Association, Mr Vincent Connolly, will act as executive director of the N.Z.L.E.A. and the two will have common offices. The general manager of Agricultural Exports, Ltd, Mr H. G. James, will represent the association on a Government committee established to oversee the future of live-sheep shipments.
