Director “Enterprise New Zealand” A Unique Economic Education Role “Enterprise New Zealand" was established eleven years ago to promote within the community an accurate imageof “business” and of an enterprise type economy and to gain acceptance for the need for all New Zealanders to work towards a common purpose. ENZ activities include the presentation of a range of programmes, the stimulation of discussion and debate, the conduct of research and the granting of awards. Operating until now as a division of the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce, Enterprise New Zealand is at present being established as a separate and incorporated body. The position of Director is shortly becoming free through the retirement of Mr Alan Simm. Applicants should feel they are capable of fully identifying with the objectives of this organisation. They should have the background and personal attributes to control economic education programmes, to promote an appreciation of the role of business, to plan future programmes and to conduct fund raising. Important are leadership qualities, the maturity and skills to negotiate and lobby at Cabinet and business leader levels plus high quality communication skills. The appointment is based in Wellington and carries a salary and accompanying benefits which will be attractive to someone with a proven record at a senior management level.
