PA Auckland Sales of Carborundum New Zealand, Ltd, for the first three months were on a par with the corresponding period last year, the chairman, Mr L. R. Willis, told the annual meeting yesterday. He said many substantial customers had been affected by economic conditions. Mr Willis said it was hoped all parties entering the new wage round would be realis-
tic, for even relatively low wage increases would have serious effects on manufacturing costs, and inevitably reduce job opportunities. The managing director, Mr J. I. Greenstreet, said Carborundum had looked at several acquisition opportunities over the past year. He said the search for rational growth continues, both from within and outside the basic business.
