School-report proposal
School-leavers may be able to take specially prepared school reports to prospective employers in future, thanks to work by the Canterbury , Employers’ Association and Riccarton High School. A working party from the association and the school has prepared a booklet which advocates a new system of school reports for school-leavers which would be of more
use to the leavers and to employers. “The widespread belief that much of what schools are doing is irrelevant to the needs of general employment needs to be challenged,” said the working party’s report. The working party has prepared a model “leaver’s profile” which it recommends should be adopted by all secondary schools.
