Ski-field conditions reported to the Christchurch Snow Centre yesterday were:—
Amuri: Base 70cm; last fall 30cm July 21; groomed runs; chains required. Cardrona: Last fall July 20; chains required. Mount Dobson: (f2l)Base 50cm; main runs groomed; last fall scm July 21; chains required. Harris Mountains: Base two metres.
Mount Hutt: Base 1.25 m; last fall 22cm July 21; packed powder; chains from toll gate. Mount Cook/hellski: Base 2m; last fall July 21. Ohau: Base Im; last fall
July 11; main runs groomed; chains carried.
Porter Heights:Packed powder on firm base; 100 cm base; all runs open; chains carried.
Remarkables: Base Im; last fall 2cm July 20; packed snow; main trails groomed; chains carried.
Tasman Glacier: Base 300 m; fresh powder; last fall July 21. Tekapo: Base 80cm; last fall July 21 3cm; packed powder; chains required. Treble Cone: Base 1.2 m; last fall Icm July 23; chains carried.
Rainbow: Base 60cm; packed and groomed powder; chains essential.
