Further grant

The Summit Road Society has made a further grant, of $5OO, towards the purchase of the Mount Vernon block on the Port Hills.

The Mount Vernon project was the' most significant development in recent years on the Port Hills, and was the society’s top priority, said its publicity officer, Mr John Jameson, yesterday. The grant was in addition to an earlier one of $lOOO, he said. “When the time comes for the practical work to start, the ; society will make further grants in manpower and financial support towards the development and improvement of the Port Hills Park,” said Mr Jameson. ” 2.
