Parties set to woo local body voters
Local body electioneering will begin in Christchurch next week.
Labour will open its campaign at the Christchurch Town Hall on Tuesday evening. Its Mayoral candidate, Cr Alex Clark, will introduce the party’s candidates for the Christchurch City Council and ad hoc authorities. Cr Clark will also outline the party’s plans for
Christchurch. The Citizens’ Association campaign opening has not yet been announced, but the association’s secretary, Mrs Judith Bruce, said it would be in September. The elections this year will be conducted by postal vote, polling beginning in late September and finishing in early October.
