Female staff not happy with decision
PA Auckland Female staff at the Social Welfare Department have criticised a decision not to give newly appointed women’s advisory officers senior management positions. Female employees have welcomed the appointments but say the middlegrad(e status given to the two officers means they
may not have the influence within the department they had hoped for. Two members of the women’s advisory group at the department, Tanya Cumberland and Rangi Walker, said that the middle-management positions meant the women would riot automatically become part of the seniormanrasment decision’ making body.
