General Management Finance Orientation Our client is a large city council and seeks a qualified accountant for its senior finance post. The unique blend of specialist financial and general management skills make this a very complex, interesting and demanding job. Applicants should be members of the New Zealand Society of Accountants and preferably hold a degree in accounting. Besides the necessary technical skills, applicants should display the ability to quickly assess the situation from an overall perspective. Definite leadership qualities are necessary with strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility to adjust those as the occasion demands. This high profile position is responsible for approximately 50 staff as well as having heavy interaction with other heads of department plus numerous outside contacts. It is unlikely that an •individual will have developed the necessary skills under the age of 40 and may come from a local body background, but suitably qualified applicants from other backgrounds will be considered.
