$900,000 in grants
PA Wellington The Leprosy Trust Board has given almost $900,000 in grants for medical work in the South Pacific.
The grants include $279,978 given to the cy-clone-devastated Solomon Islands, most of which is intended for leprosy relief, but some of which is to help reconstruct the islands’ health services.
Other main grants in--elude $72,000 for work in Vanuatu, $73,000 for the Twomey Hospital, Suva, and $54,000 for the leprosy research unit at Auckland Medical Hospital.
