Swap ‘fantasy’
A' Soviet Government spokesman has described as fantasy a West German newspaper report that a banished physicist, Andrei Sakharov, could be freed in exchange for the release of the jailed South African black activist, Nelson Mandela. “I’m not going td comment on fantasies from any Western newspaper,” said Gennady Gerasimov when asked about the report in “Bild,” a West German publication. The unsourced report said Washington and Moscow had agreed on the SakharovMandela swap as part of a broad East-West prisoner exchange to take place before the next United States-Soviet summit meeting.—Moscow.
