Constable saves boy
PA Auckland A constable waded through water waist deep to save an intellectually handicapped boy in a South Auckland river estuary last evening.
Constable Paul Marsh, aged 33, said he reached the floundering and
confused boy as he was heading towards the deepest part of the estuary of the Tamaki River. The constable and a colleague, Constable Darren Carr, aged 24, saw the boy, aged 12, from a bridge spanning the estuary, at 9.35 p.m.
