The company manufactures high quality medium density fibreboard under the trade name “CUSTOMWOOD**. A major capital expenditure programme has been initiated as part of the on-going product diversification and technological improvement activities. Location is within easy commuting distance of Christchurch. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager the Plant Engineer will be responsible for the overall co-ordination and management of project engineering (5 staff) and maintenance (29 staff), staff direction and performance, and planning. Applicants should be qualified to degree level in mechanical or electrical engineering and possess significant supervisory experience managing capital project and maintenance staff. A knowledge of planned maintenance systems would be advantageous. The ability to plan, organise, control and motivate staff is essential, along with strong communication skills. Preferred age range is 35-45 years. An excellent remuneration package including a company vehicle will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
