Pacific Is. history
Students at the University of Canterbury will now be able to study Pacific Island history. The University Council yesterday approved the introduction of a firstyear course in Pacific Island history. The ViceChancellor, Professor Bert Brownlie, said the Introduction of the course was related to the popularity of Australian and New Zealand history courses. The council also approved the introduction of a course on feminist perspectives. Chancellor re-elected Mr Charles Caldwell has been re-elected Chancellor of the University of Canterbury. Mr Caldwell was reelected at the University Council’s meeting yesterday. Mr Richard Bowron was re-elected Pro-Chan-cellor. Mr E. W. Bensemann and Dr Karen Zelas were re-elected as co-opted members of the council.
