A six-on two-off roster is worked for 40 weeks per annum, and wages would be according to experience and qualifications. The successful applicant will join the laboratory services section of the Site Services Department which provides metallurgical, chemical, environmental, spectrographic and x-ray services to the plant. The Laboratory Services group is well equipped with technical resources and staffed with experienced people, who undertake a wide range of work, essential to the successful operation of the smelter. It also provides some opportunities to widen work experience and con- . tribute to career development. Located in the chemical laboratory, the position of chemist involves principally the analysis of raw materials associated with the manufacture of aluminium and also materials from different stages of the production processes. The work could also involve other investigational projects and special assignments within the sphere of the lab. services functions. Applicants should hold an appropriate qualification related to analytical chemistry work and possess some laboratory experience. It is desirable that applicants demonstrate in their work history evidence that they have had some involvement with production processes and that they have been able to apply technical knowledge to the practical and logical solution of problems.
