Talks were not needed: Collinge
PA Auckland The chairman of the Commerce Commission, Mr John Collinge, said it was not required to consult Air New Zealand over giving clearance to Ansett to carry a joint venture
domestic airline. Mr Collinge said that under the new Commerce Act, the Commission could only refuse consent to a merger if it was acquiring or strengthening a dominant position in any market.
