The M.G.V. special sports car, which Trevor Crowe built and cut his motor-racing teeth on back in the early 19605, is still winning races. Driven by its present owner, Rob Shand, of Christchurch, the car won an unofficial sprint race at Timaru recently. On a fairly demanding Shingle
course, it headed off some 14 other cars, all built more recently, to record the day’s fastest time. "It is unusual for a car to be still winning races 20 years after it was built, and this shows what a fine job Trevor Crowe did when he put it together,” said Shand.
