Parker fills in for Kellaway
The new presenter for the “Tonight” chat show will be the former Miss New Zealand and successful Australian breakfast television host, Sue Kellaway. Kellaway will make her first appearance on the show on June 20, taking over the hostess role vacated by Catherine Saunders.
“Tonight” will screen as usual this evening, with the “This Is Your Life” presenter, Bob Parker, acting as “guest host.” Next week’s host has yet to be decided. The producer of the show, Andrew Shaw, and TVNZ’s controller of programmes and production, Des Monaghan, believe it is better that the show
continues, rather than be taken off air for the two weeks before Kellaway takes up the presenter’s role.
The gossip columnist, David Hartnell, and political commentator, Warren Mayne, will not be part of the show with Kellaway, but the Hands Up satirical puppets will continue.
