VACANCY 5613 DESIGN ENGINEER (PAVEMENTS) THE ROADING DIRECTORATE of the Ministry of Works and Development, Head Office, is-seeking a Design Engineer, Pavements. The main duties of the successful applicant will be technical servicing of the Road Research Unit’s Pavements Committee. This position places the successful applicant at the forefront of road pavements research in New Zealand. The Committee’s activities include research into aggregates, bitumen, asphaltic concrete, pavement construction, pavement design, pavement drainage, line stabilisation and unsealed roads. Thus the successful applicant will have considerable liaison with a wide range of experienced or expert people involved with road pavements in New Zealand. Some travel throughout New Zealand is involved. While the position is a challenging one it offers the right person a unique opportunity to learn about and be at the forefront of road pavements knowledge and meet a wide range of Intellectually stimulating people.
