Activist to speak
The Maori activist, Mr Dun Mihaka, will speak at a rally in Cathedral Square tomorrow evening to mark the eviction and arrest of 222 people from Auckland’s Bastion Point in May, 1978. The rally will follow a march from the Bridge of Remembrance, starting at 7 p.m. A stall with information about events surrounding “Bastion Point Day” bn May 25 will be set up in the Square also. A film, “Bastion Point: Day 507,” will be shown at the Academy Cinema on Sunday at 2 p.m. followed by a discussion allowing for all viewpoints.
