Top G.P. turnout

A top-class field will start in the Star Motors Ellesmere Saloon Grand Prix at Leeston on Sunday.

James Seaton from Invercargill in a Camaro is likely to be a top contender, in spite of not knowing the track.

Dunedin’s Steve Wichman in a Mazda and Richie McCann from Greymouth in a Mini impressed at the recent Temuka flood benefit meeting, but will face strong competition from the Temuka club’s big contingent. Last year’s winner, Brian Kenton in a Commodore, heads the list of Temuka drivers with Barry Stewart in a new Mustang aiming for the elusive title.

The Grand Prix is being run over a series of three ten- lap races. Mini Rods, Fender Benders and Saloons races will also run.
