Duroc boar brings $1150 at auction

The highlight of the second annual “growth plus” pig sale at Christchurch last week was a price of $ll5O for a Duroc boar sold by Burnalan Farm, of Bumham. The plus three McMeekanrated boar was bought by G. F. Timperley and Son, of Belfast. Prices of other pigs were described as sound and all pigs were sold. Dunlop (Burnham), 5 unmated Hampshire gilts at $250 to $500; I. G. Storer (Kaiapoi), 11 FI gilts at $360 to $400; T. S. Chappell (Killinchy), 5 commercial gilts at $3BO to $4lO.
