Chch broadcasters vie for awards
Five Christchurch radio personalities and broadcasters, and one radio producer are finalists in this year’s Mobil Radio Awards, which are announced in Auckland this evening (Thursday). In the air personality of the year award, Robin Harrison of 3ZB has been nominated in the best talk host/newsreader category, and James Daniels
and Ken Ellis,, of 3ZM, have been nominated in the best music and entertainment host (metropolitan) category. Mike Minehan, also of ZB, will contest her best spoken programme award in the best daily/weekly series category for the Minehan Report, and Reon Murtha has been nominated for the most outstanding sports broad-
cast award for his programme "Bustling Bill.” A Christchurch producer, Dorothy Hitch, has been nominated for the New Zealand production of a musical programme award in the serious music category for her production of the Nabucco Opera, which featured the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and combined choirs.
