Lecture on comet
A public lecture on Halley’s Comet will be held this evening at the United States Information Service office at 106 Gloucester Street. The project manager of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Kuiper Airborne Observatory, Mr Lou Haughney, will conduct the lecture. Slides and video footage of the comet, taken from the observatory, will be shown. Mr Haughney will also outline some of the work being done by N.A.S.A. and other scientists aboard the observatory, which is based at Christchurch. The lecture will start at 7 pjm.
