Tennis, cocaine linked
NZPA-AFP Oslo Morten Ronneberg, tennis champion of Norway, is in custody after being arrested by Oslo police last week for possession of ten grams of amphetamines. Ronneberg, aged 21, reportedly said: “Use of cocaine is common among top level tennis players.” But, he said, Swedish
players were exceptions to the rule because they i were supervised by very experienced coaches. Ronneberg, 350th on the Association of Tennis Professionals computer rankings, said, “Many top level tennis players use cocaine during tournaments. Drug dealers follow the international circuit with pick-me-ups for players.”
