Grant Davison to ride in-form stablemates

Royal Adder and Ten Winks, winners of feature races at the Nelson meeting last week-end as mounts of North Island jockeys, will be partnered by Riccarton’s top horsemen when they meet in the Hororata Racing Club’s feature race at Riccarton on Saturday. Royal Adder, David Walsh’s mount when she won the Nelson Cup on Monday, will be ridden this time by Grant Davison. Chris Johnson has been engaged for Ten Winks, which won the Caltex Cup in the hands of
Warwick Satherley at Nelson last Friday, but was unplaced behind Royal Adder in the Nelson Cup. Royal Adder’s stablemate Our Secret Weapon has been scratched for the Hawkins 2000 Handicap, leaving Ten Winks top weight with 55kg. Ten Winks’s stablemate, Princess Regal, will also be attempting to give
weight all round in the Brentwood Handicap, second leg of the Hororata T.A.B. double. Closest to her in the weights is Jarrow, winner of her last four races for Joe Shaw’s stable. Jarrow has the Wellington Racing Club’s Cuddle Stakes on her programme, and her performance over 1400 m on her home track on Saturday will come
under much attention. John Dowling won on Jarrow at Riccarton at Easter and will have the mount again on Saturday. Grant Davison has been engaged for Satiny’s Pride, which followed up a fourth in the Terrace Regency Stakes at Otaki with a third behind Princess Regal on the second day of the Nelson meeting.
